Stitching Love and Strength: The Story Behind Hoop and Loop Creations

Some businesses are born from ambition, others from creativity — and some, like Hoop and Loop Creations, are born from resilience, love, and the beauty of finding peace through craft.

For the artist behind Hoop and Loop, embroidery and crochet aren’t just hobbies, they’re a deeply personal form of storytelling. Each piece she creates is entirely one-of-a-kind, filled with heart, patience, and the kind of care that only comes from creating something by hand.

From Hospital Stitches to Handmade Hoop and Loop Creations

The story of Hoop and Loop began in an unexpected place; the antepartum unit of a hospital. Pregnant with twin girls and facing preterm labor, she found herself on bedrest, far from her husband and young son. What started as a way to pass the time during those long days became something much more profound: a source of calm, purpose, and hope.

“I started teaching myself how to sew and crochet while I was in the hospital,” she shares. “It kept my mind off my worries and let me channel that energy into making something special — gifts for my babies and for my son at home.”

Over the month and a half she spent there, she poured her love into her first creations, delicate pieces for her soon-to-arrive daughters and a handmade whale shark for her son, which became an instant family favorite. (So much so that friends and family immediately began requesting their own!)

A Personal Touch in Every Stitch

Each Hoop and Loop creation tells a story and no two are ever alike. One of her favorite projects so far? An embroidered 11x14 flower field that weaves together her entire family’s birth flowers and favorite colors a truly one-of-a-kind piece of textile art that symbolizes connection and love.

Her crochet work carries the same spirit, whimsical, playful, and full of personality. Whether it’s a hand-stitched keepsake hoop or a custom crocheted animal, every item is made to be cherished for years to come.

Balancing Family and Craft

Today, she’s taking a step back from her career as a pediatric speech therapist to focus on what she treasures most, her family and her craft. Life with three little ones (including twin girls and a busy three-year-old!) is anything but quiet, but she’s found a rhythm that works.

“My day starts at 5:30 AM with coffee and some time to sew before the kids wake up,” she says. “During naps, I work on sketches, prep materials, and fill orders. Once the kids are in bed, I get a few more hours to create. It’s a full day, but it’s fulfilling.”

That dedication, to both her family and her art, shines through in every piece she makes.
