For as long as she can remember, Ivy Egger has felt the pull of creativity. As a little girl, she was always

drawn to color, texture, and the endless possibilities of making something beautiful with her hands. But like many artists, she was told that pursuing art might not be “practical.” So, Ivy took her creativity in a different direction, into graphic design.

Yet, even while working in design, the spark never went away. “I started to get the itch to create something more hands-on,” she recalls. “I missed that tactile connection to the work.” In 2018, Ivy picked up her paintbrush again and something inside her reignited. Not long after, she took a class in mixed media mosaic, and everything clicked.

“I was hooked,” she says. “The process of cutting, shaping, and assembling glass and materials into something cohesive and expressive, it was exactly what I’d been searching for.”

Throughout COVID, Ivy dedicated herself to refining her skills. That period of quiet focus became a turning point. She began sharing her work online and soon launched her own website, Vine Designs Art, a space to showcase her evolving collection of paintings and mosaics.

A Moment of Recognition for Ivy Egger

Since then, Ivy’s journey has been filled with milestones, but one moment stands out above the rest. In 2023, she earned her very first art award, receiving an Honorable Mention in the Mixed Media category.

“It was such a validating experience,” Ivy says. “Not just because of the recognition, but because it reminded me how far I’ve come since I first started creating again.”
