Table: Food, Connection, and the Art of Genuine Hospitality

Some of the best ideas start small, around a table, over good food, and with people who care deeply about bringing others together. That’s exactly how Table began.

Krystal Founder of Table

What started as a modest catering venture has grown into one of Northern Ireland’s most trusted names for relaxed, high-quality BBQ and event catering. Founder Krystal wanted to create more than just a meal. She wanted to create an experience where people feel truly looked after.

“Our approach is all about flavour, colour, and choice,” she explains. “Guests build their own plates from freshly cooked meats, vibrant salads, and seasonal sides. Everything is prepared on site, with our Trailblazer BBQ trailer serving as both kitchen and focal point.”

From weddings and corporate events to family gatherings and Airbnb weekends, Table’s charcoal BBQs have become a signature feature of celebrations across the region. Each event has its own energy and vision, and Krystal’s goal is simple; to bring that vision to life through food and genuine hospitality.

Before founding Table, Krystal worked in the charity sector, where food was often her way of connecting with people. That sense of connection remains at the heart of everything she does today.

Proud Moments, Big and Small

For Krystal, pride doesn’t just come from milestones, it comes from meaning. Launching Table just before COVID-19 was a test of adaptability. Practically overnight, events turned into afternoon tea deliveries and community meals, teaching her lessons in resilience and creativity that still guide the business today.

“I’m proud of how Table has grown and kept its heart intact,” she says. “But my proudest moments are often the small ones. When a guest is surprised by how good BBQ food can be, or when someone with a food intolerance lights up because there’s a proper meal waiting for them.”

These thoughtful touches, paired with the warmth of the Table team, turn each event into something special. The Trailblazer BBQ becomes a stage. A little bit of theatre that draws people in with its aroma and atmosphere.

“It’s that sense of community,” Krystal adds. “People chatting, asking questions, enjoying the moment — that’s why I started Table.”

A Day in the Life

Running a business like Table means no two days are ever alike. On event days, Krystal is on the move early, collecting ingredients from trusted local suppliers such as McKee’s Farm Shop, loading the van with food, equipment, and serving gear, and setting up the Trailblazer BBQ before guests arrive. Timing, presentation, and personal interaction are all part of the service. On quieter days, she can be found planning menus, responding to enquiries, or organizing logistics for upcoming events, often with a coffee in hand.

“Running Table is as much about organisation as it is about creativity,” she says. “And I enjoy both sides of it.”

Community, Connection, and Collaboration

The spirit of Table is rooted in collaboration, working alongside local producers, venues, and event professionals who share the same values of quality and care. Krystal takes inspiration from the many talented people shaping Northern Ireland’s food culture, including McKee’s Farm Shop, Indie Fude, Mike’s Fancy Cheese, Knead Bakery, and Bertie’s Bakery. “Their commitment to local sourcing and craftsmanship mirrors what we value at Table,” she explains.

She’s equally inspired by event stylists, planners, and venues who pair creativity with sustainability, helping to build events that are as responsible as they are beautiful. “When delicious food, thoughtful design, and sustainable practices come together,” she says, “it creates something truly memorable.”

How to Connect with Table

You can find Table online at www.tablefood.co.uk and on Instagram @tablefoodco. The team also shares updates on Facebook and LinkedIn.

The best way to support Table? Word of mouth. Recommend them to friends, family, or colleagues planning an event. Share their posts or tag them after your celebration — small gestures that make a big difference.

And if you’re planning a wedding, corporate event, or private celebration, Krystal has one piece of advice:

“Start the catering conversation early. Great food is about more than what’s served on the day, it’s about planning together, making sure everyone feels included, and creating something people will remember.”

Table is proof that hospitality doesn’t have to be complicated — it just has to be heartfelt. Through every BBQ, every shared plate, and every conversation, Krystal and her team continue to celebrate what food does best: bring people together.
